So at Supercon I met an animator who was doing animated commissions. Full 45-second fully colored, voiced, synced and SFX for the low, low price of… $5,500 (That’s about $5/frame). I realize no one would pay that much for an animation, but learning that this was the standard price definitely encouraged me to get commissions going (they’re still closed atm, might re-open after Bronycon. I’ve got a lot on my plate right now). Consider this, your OC or a canon character of ponies or superhero or Garfield doing whatever you wanted them to and seeing it before your eyes. It takes a lot of effort and years to learn, but commissions allow you to see your dream come true without the time and effort spent on learning and creating it.
So in conclusion, if people paid more for commissions I’d consider re-opening animated commissions. Money is difficult, so I might need to get creative with this.
