Cintiq 12WX or Yiynova DP10HD?

The past few days I’ve been looking into getting a tablet monitor, specifically the Wacom Cintiq 12WX. So far it’s looked great as far as specs, but the price scared me off several times, so I was checking into alternatives and found this little guy. These are my findings based on competition, and I’ll put my expectations below:

Pros of Yiynova:

Price ($369 new vs. $999 new, $799 used)

Fewer cables (2 USB to power/connect vs. power/USB/VGA)

Cons of Yiynova:

Smaller screen

Non-programmable face buttons

Possibility of not working with SAI

Minor pressure sensitive difficulties

Aside from these features, the two tablets seem identical. What I’m asking is if anyone has either of these tablets, your opinions, and what your advice would be for making a purchase! 2/3 cheaper is a lot for me, so take into consideration: unecessary features, price, and convenience.

  1. ask-lightningdust answered: I’m biased because I own one, but I’d say go with neither, and rather save up another hundred and get a yiynova msp 19.Han’t had any trouble.
  2. darknsinth answered: Sai would be useful… but unless you know it won’t work, then go with Yiynova I think. I don’t use tablets though so…
