Been threatening this a lot, but once I finish this Frigid video I might start Ask Frigid Drift up again. I actually have a reasonable battle plan that won’t interfere with my video work schedule. More on that later~
askthenightguards said:Wouldn’t that require a video in 120 FPS for proper frame multiples?
Maybe..? But the way I have it set up is in After Effects I have the nested 24FPS characters in the MainComp which is 60FPS, and being a second-based timeline I have hope that it’ll line up just fine, but otherwise I’ll bump the characters up to 30FPS if it doesnt work out.
Got some neat ideas for the next project that are different from the beach one:
- Doing the character animation in 24fps and the backgrounds in 60fps
- Adding more backgrounds
- Blocking the characters before I tween them (do this more, Paul)
- Colored irises
- Free-bend eyelids (infinite expression possibilities)
- Attached 3D hair (more rotation possibilities)
- And full 3D Y-Axis rotation (spinny spinny~)
Working on the hair currently, and just finished the eyelids system. Really excited to see how these changes will affect my animations!

Good golly that took a while, but I finally got the eyelids working the way I want them to (for the most part). These lids have 3 controllers each that I can pose and animate freely using puppet warp. If they go above the eye they vanish. Now to work on the hair…
