woah dude that looks really coool. hey im about to get a new computer and i seen alot of people complaining about windows 8 i mean you cant really take serious all you see in tumblr but can i ask for your opinion? ;3 thanks mate
Windows 8 = Windows 7 with a start menu.
There’s an “app” on windows 8 called Desktop, which people fail to find or use properly. Desktop is literally Windows 7 stuck in Windows 8.
The only difference is the start menu, plus you can download some neat apps to run in the background without getting in the way of Desktop.
Or you can have them side by side!
Pomodoro Timer app has a status notification to let you know when the timer is done, I’ve been using that to pace myself with work.
Decking out my Windows 8 experience with new app icons and time-savers! Also, maining with Krita now and keeping my projects organized!
Been working in Krita for about 40 minutes, loving it so much.
- First off, it has a kickin’ start menu. Comic templates and advanced document settings
- The brush settings are also really advanced, using curves to make very specific and detailed changes to your brush presets. You can alter specific things like pen tilt to adjust opacity or size. Lots of insane adjustments you can make.
- Has a built-in text tool and 3D rotation tools built into the free transform tool. Lots of tools, so many tools, awiufawjks
- Right clicking anywhere brings up a radial color wheel menu and brush presets. Easily edit hue, saturation, and value and change all your settings.
- Also, has nice layer options, masking, hide/show, lock/unlock, most of the photoshop stuff… and it’s all free… and soon on Steam.
This has been my first impressions and gets an A+ so far. More to come soon!
Installing Krita
Krita is one of those new art programs like SAI, Fire Alpaca, ect and it’s free download. I’m testing it out now and I’ll give a review once I’m satisfied with it. Apparently they’re trying to get it onto Steam, which is totally a cool idea: free and automatic updates, sharing brush presets with the community, syncing presets for multiple devices, and sharing art (which isnt as great on Steam as tumblr or DA, but it’s a thing). I suggest voting Yes on their steam greenlight page so we can really see this baby shine! It just finished installing, so I’ll keep you all updated!
